Morris Fed AGM 2014

Hope Park

Welcome to our webpage specifically devoted to the Morris Federation AGM on 27th September 2014. Here you should find information that will be relevant to and up to date for your side to make a decision about joining Belfagan at this event. We follow in the footsteps of some great weekends and would like to thank the contributions made by Shrewsbury Lasses, Shrewsbury Morris and Buttercross Belles from Otley for their assistance.

KESWICK
Keswick in evening light

We are siting the 2014 AGM in Keswick which is on the edge of Derwentwater in the Lake District. Arrive via the M6 (J40 at Penrith) and the A66 from almost anywhere in the country. The town is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts - walkers, climbers, sailors and canoeists. There are many places to stay, from simple Youth Hostels to luxury hotels. Thre are pubs, cafés and restaurants to feed you.

RAWNSLEY HALL
The AGM weekend will be centred on Rawnsley hall, the old Keswick Grammar School base, just 200 metres from the town centre. Belfagan will be welcoming you there with drinks and biscuits.

DANCING SPOTS
We have chosen a number of pleasant sites around the town for sides to dance at in the morning: all are within walking distance of about 5 minutes of the town centre, but it will be a Saturday so the busy market will be going on there. It is our custom to raise money for local charities, and during the dances, buckets will be with the stewards to collect for Wasdale Mountain Rescue. In the afternoon there will be a showcase when the sides may present one or two dances for all to see, and this will be either outside Rawnsley hall, or within, if wet.

AGM, MEAL AND THEN CEILIDH
Then late in the afternoon will be the AGM when Morris Federation business will be conducted. After a chance to relax and have a meal, we shall be presenting a ceilidh with local band Striding Edge, in Rawnsley hall.

SUNDAY
Belfagan have nothing planned for Sunday at the moment, but if you are keen to do something let us know and if enough people are interested we will see what we can do.
